PRODUCT ENGINEER
£43,800 per annum
Annual Bonus Scheme
Monday to Friday 39 Hours per week
8.30am - 5pm (4pm Fridays)
Reporting to the Technical Manager and working across a wider group, this is a key role to manage a range of Product Development and certification projects for the manufacture of Interior & Exterior Doors and Systems.
The Role:
Managing a range of small & large projects for the sustainment of existing and development of new products.
Using design tools to conduct critical research and development aspects of materials, components and assemblies.
Evolving and progressing ideas from conception through to production, covering all stages of design/ development, testing and certification.
Communicating effectively throughout every project to ensure engagement and efficiency of project teams as well as internal progress management to the Technical Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience in bringing a product from initial brief through the full stages of research, development and testing, ideally with a background in Door and fenestration design/ industrial design/ furniture design/ joinery design/ product engineering
Success in managing and collaborating with wider functions to ensure product viability from both a financial & manufacturing perspective
Experience of testing and certification in timber and composite, interior and exterior fenestration products would be hugely beneficial
Background in large scale timber/ joinery manufacture and CAD/CNC programming would be highly beneficial
Technical drawing, material specification, technical documentation drafting and design detailing skills
Knowledge of thermal evaluation, fire testing, security testing, durability and stability performance of timber products and relevant ironmongery testing & standards would be highly desirable
Highly competent operating AutoCAD to a high standard as well as associated programs such as Inventor
