Role- Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary- £35,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type- Permanent
Location- Bristol
My client is a specialist manufacturer working on a range of products in many sectors, They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 3 or more years' of industry experience working in similar Mechanical or Hydraulic Design role
- Excellent proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks or similar
- Working with hydraulics is essential
- Proven ability to drive Engineering development
- Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining etc.
- The ability to understand system requirements
- Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working within the R&D multi-disciplinary team
- Leading client projects to convert ideas into designs
- Working on new product concepts
- Perform development activities and find new mechanical solutions
- Being involved in the product design and development process using CAD
- Working with high precision instrumentation products
- Modelling, analysis and the development of mechanisms
- Involved in building and developing prototypes
- Conducting design reviews
- Producing the relevant documentation that is required
- Driving continuous improvement
