The Construction Manager Opportunity:

As the Construction Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for managing the construction aspects of projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.

This opportunity will include consultancy work from time-to-time to support the overall success of the business.

Based at our head office in Oxford, you will report directly to the Managing Director and make regular site visits as needed. We also support occasional home working, provided it aligns with corporate and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Managing a team to ensure work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards
+ Ensuring site managers are monitoring the quality of goods received
+ Monitoring project progress and address any issues that arise during construction
+ Keeping stakeholders updated on progress and providing lookahead milestone targets
+ Providing a monthly progress report to the Client
+ Acting as the main point of contact between sites and head office
+ Delivering best practice and ensuring the wider team do the same
+ Attending snagging and back snagging and ensuring the units are up to standard
+ Identifying new methods of construction and of operating the business for commercial success
+ Providing support to the commercial team when appraising development opportunities
+ Implementing new ideas and methods and continuing to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals

About you:

+ An experienced individual with circa 10 years' experience working in a construction firm, developer, or in construction management
+ A full driving licence is essential
+ Experience of managing projects with agreed parameters
+ Proven technical knowledge of the Construction industry
+ Experience of high end residential construction projects and delivering excellent results
+ Experience of setting up project programmes and holding progress to the programme
+ Ability to plan and supervise the set up of sites
+ Excellent people skills managing multiple stakeholders across project work
+ Able to demonstrate an organised and systematic way of working
+ Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving
+ Good computer skills and working knowledge of cloud based software
+ Commercial awareness with good business acumen
+ Ability to direct/manage/supervise multiple sites
+ Experienced health and safety practitioner with good knowledge of CDM regulations and ability to implement good practice on site as a high priority
+ Experience of sustainable construction is desirable
