The role:

As an English teacher at this school, you will play a vital role in inspiring and motivating our students to develop a love for literature and language. Your expertise in managing behaviour, combined with your passion for teaching, will make a significant impact on our students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and ADHD.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and encourages active participation.
  • Utilise effective behaviour management strategies to establish a calm and focused classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them overcome learning barriers.
  • Track student progress and use assessment data to inform instructional strategies.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH and ADHD, ideally within a behaviour school or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum, along with creative and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Ability to build rapport with students, inspire their learning, and instill confidence in their abilities.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
