Position Overview:
I am working on a very exciting opportunity for a driven and skilled Accounts Assistant working on a Hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing and prioritising their workload, effectively communicating with clients and colleagues, and contributing as a proactive team member to help achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Drafting tax returns and computations in conjunction with account preparation
- Preparing VAT returns in draft form
- Engaging with clients in a confident and professional manner
- Handling enquiries and correspondence with HMRC
- Analysing data and generating accurate reports.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in preparing self-assessment tax returns, year-end accounts, and corporation tax computations at the draft stage
- Currently studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or possessing equivalent experience
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate a proactive approach
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong numerical aptitude and an interest in business and finance
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- High levels of motivation and enthusiasm
- Ability to work towards both individual and team targets
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver professional, timely, and accurate services to clients
- Strong communication skills
- Client-focused mindset with relevant commercial awareness
- Familiarity and experience with cloud accounting software.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with Sage software.
