Summary
We're looking for a Collections Assistant to join the team at The Workhouse and Infirmary, bringing to life the history and significance of this much loved place.
The working pattern for this role is 9-5 on Tuesdays and 8.30-12.15 on Fridays and Saturdays, but we are happy to discuss the exact rota at interview stage.

We're a relatively small property, with a friendly atmosphere, run by a small but dedicated staff team and wider volunteer support.
The Workhouse and Infirmary is an unusual National Trust property focussing on the social history of the poor, giving a voice to their stories and experiences. It is a complex place that challenges us to reconsider how we care for all in our communities today. With many connections to important contemporary questions surrounding welfare and inequality, it is an exciting time to be joining the team.
What you'll be doing
As a Collections Assistant, you'll be working with a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections. No detail will go unnoticed, and you'll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmental conditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You'll keep accurate records too.
In this visitor facing role, we'd love you to talk to visitors about the work you're doing, and the collections we have. You'll also be part of the wider team of employees and volunteers, helping to cover where necessary.
