Buyer - 56123 - Basildon - £26.75/hr rising to £32.32/hr after 12 weeks - Inside IR35
Do you have automotive purchasing experience, and are you seeking a new role in Basildon? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a a global automotive OEM recruit a Buyer, and the role comes with an attractive Umbrella contract rate of £26.75 per hour (Inside IR35).
As a Buyer, you will serve as an overall point of view owner for purchasing on programmes and a key purchasing point of contact to the Vehicle Program Team and Commodity Purchasing during the development and management of Commercial Vehicle products.
To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:
- Provide purchasing input during early program gateways to aid target development and purchasing strategy development
- Be the voice of purchasing in program meetings
- Update key systems and tools with status and completion dates
- Achieve alignment on supplier selection and sourcing to meet Supplier Engineering on-board dates
- Attend sourcing, timing and tooling program activity team meetings.
To apply for this Buyer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
- Experience required within or close to a Purchasing setting, preferably automotive.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Understanding of Costs status vs target for a group of commodities.
- Demonstrable understanding of current challenges facing the automotive industry and the role of purchasing to support the business
- Ability to interrogate costs/quotes, use a variety of data sourced to establish a point of view of competitive pricing
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including relationship building.
