Job Description

The role offers excellent opportunities for personal and career development within the exciting world of digital assets, providing exposure to a wide variety of accounting functions. You will become an integral part of our Finance Team, managing the purchase and sales ledger duties, assisting with month-end and year-end preparations accounts, annual audits, budgeting, and forecasting as well being the first point of contact for any finance queries within the Company.

This role requires a hands- on, team player with the ability to work well with others at all levels, including senior management and someone with a high level of attention to detail to ensure the accurate posting of transactions within accounts, investigate errors/variances through account reconciliations, and to support the Company in everyday accounts queries.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Leading the accounts payable process
  • Timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices received
  • Raising and issuing invoices to Elwood customers
  • Reconciliation of the Company bank accounts
  • Working closely with the Finance Director to enable timely preparation of monthly management accounts and accompanying reporting for senior management
  • Being Elwood's main point of contact with its banking providers
  • Working with Elwood's financial auditor to enable smooth and timely completion of the annual audit process as required
  • Supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and accompanying reporting for senior management
  • Working with HR to review the Company's payroll for staff in multiple jurisdictions
  • Working with Elwood's Tax Director and external tax advisers to prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with all necessary tax legislation
  • Review and approval of vendor payments
  • Assisting with finance related queries from other departments within the business

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Essential:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • 2-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel
  • Practical, pragmatic and enjoy working as part of a small team in a busy environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.

Desirable

  • Previous use of NetSuite accounting software
  • Experience of UK VAT reporting
  • Payroll knowledge an advantage
  • Understanding of FCA reporting requirements for regulated entities an advantage
