As a Career Adviser, you will be responsible for providing career Information, Advice, and Guidance to adults on a range of opportunities, including learning, career paths, and employment. This role will primarily involve working in the community, but it may also require the delivery of sessions virtually.
Contract: Permanent - Full-time
We are looking for a qualified Careers Adviser to work across East Sussex through the National Careers Service. You will help young people and adults to build the skills and confidence they need to move into sustainable education, employment or training.
Career Adviser Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- An IAG qualification at level 4 or above to be eligible for this role.
- Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above
- You must also be able to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, have a non-judgmental attitude, and desire to support people in fulfilling their potential.
- A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
- Experience of working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Experience in managing a caseload of adults/young people to meet targeted outcomes
- All appointees will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check.
Desirable
- An awareness of the issues affecting people, particularly the impact of social and economic disadvantage on personal motivation, confidence and ability to progress through education, employment and training
