About the Business

An opportunity to be a Client Accountant in an exciting property business with a medium sized team based in Birmingham City Centre! Main Duties:

As a Client Accountant your main duties include:

  • Client Interaction: Handle queries and maintain communication.
  • Draft tenant and property completion statements.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and clear down balances.
  • Client Financial Reporting: Prepare standard and bespoke reports.
  • Create service charge variance analysis reports.
  • Input service charge budgets.
  • VAT Reporting.
  • Participate in client meetings and Teams calls when necessary.
  • Manage monthly/quarterly tenant billing processes.
  • Make ad-hoc adjustments to tenant billing.
  • Calculate utility recharges and raise related demands.
  • Prepare client funding requests.
  • Reconcile and close service charge accounts.
  • Prepare and update service charge cash reconciliations.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental team meetings.
  • Support the wider accounting team (including Accounts Payable and Credit Control).
  • Assist the Estates Team in resolving queries.

Location / Office / Culture

Located in Birmingham City Centre, the office is a modern, attractive environment and holds a fantastic team with very low staff turnover.

This role is hybrid with only 2 days in the office and the rest from home,

The company is very stable with a medium sized team that's been together for many years.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT is preferred but not essential
  • A strong background in finance
  • Ideally, experience in property management accounting
  • Skilled user of Microsoft packages, encompassing Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong interpersonal skills
