CAD Development Engineer Permanent Full-time
Salary - Circa £35,000 DOE
Location - In office, Tonbridge
We're excited to be supporting a long standing high-end interior design & manufacturing company, they have over four decades of experience creating beautiful interior spaces and lighting for the domestic but also commercial sectors.
As a central role in the Projects Team, you will be responsible for the development of client designs from concept, prototyping and manufacture. You will be solely responsible for all development of their Contract Projects for the commercial side of the business as well as customised versions of their large Installations.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Development of designs and concepts, as well as prototypes, at the request of the Contract Sales Director to ensure that the company can support clients throughout their projects
- Develop CAD drawings and models where required for customised versions of their product range, bespoke projects, and new products
- Interpret and modify existing CAD drawings
- Advise on compliance requirements within the company's manufacturing and development departments
- Liaising with suppliers to develop, cost up components and assemblies but also to agree upon technical and manufacturing techniques
- BOMS and part management of new and existing designs
- Undertake visits to site and client premises to assess any quality issues or faults as they may arise and propose the most commercially viable solution
- To assist in the design, development and delivery of custom lighting installation projects when required
- Develop design proposals, project costings, and prepare presentations.
Experiences required
- Competent 3D CAD modeller using Inventor or SolidWorks/Solid Edge/Fusion 360/Siemens
- Has worked within a manufacturing environment
- Can create detailed technical drawing packs for manufacture
- A background in lighting or high-end interiors is advantageous
