I am seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance team during a critical period. The role is essential for assisting with the financial closing process, managing audit activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial documents and systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in audit and financial control, particularly within large, cross-border operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the existing team with the financial closing process.
- Serve as an expert resource for the audit process, providing crucial support and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Prepare management accounts, oversee cash flow, and handle complex credit control tasks, including dealing with large companies accounts and established market leader stakeholders.
- Work with consolidated accounts and provide support for operations staffed out of the UK.
- Manage the integration and streamlining of a newly introduced accounts payable software, ensuring automation efficiency and accuracy in ledger postings.
- Conduct thorough reconciliations for balance sheet items.
- Provide direct support to auditors, facilitating audit processes and sample testing to verify system functionality.
- Oversee fixed asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant/Controller, particularly in roles involving audit and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements, especially in a cross-border context.
- Experience with large-scale and complex financial systems, including EDI links and handling invoices for major corporations.
- Proficient in using and optimising accounts payable software and systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for effective problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain organised in a fast-paced environment.
