Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Technical Manager to join their business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately complete customer specifications to meet brand standards and customer requirements. Ensure all supporting documentation meets food safety and due diligence standards.
  • Work closely with the NPD Manager, Project Manager, and Supplier Technical teams to capture relevant data for customer specifications.
  • Ensure timely customer technical approval of specifications and audits to meet launch deadlines.
  • Track and report customer complaints, acting as the main point of contact for investigation and corrective actions.
  • Audit and proof suppliers as needed, managing both customer and internal KPI projects.
  • Manage post-launch amendments to finished product specifications and serve as the primary customer contact.
  • Stay updated on customer codes of practice, regulatory changes, and compliance updates related to product manufacturing, labelling, and legal claims.
  • Oversee supplier approval processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and customer codes of practice.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the customer technical function and the technical/quality assurance teams at manufacturing sites.
  • Coordinate between commercial and planning functions to meet business needs and legal requirements for import/export, labelling, food safety, and security.
  • Drive the implementation and maintenance of internal standards and accreditations to ensure food safety criteria are met.
  • Support nationwide initiatives for waste reduction, recyclability, carbon reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
  • Implement and maintain ethical codes of practice for all partners, including supplier and customer relationships on SEDEX.
