People HR Manager

Your new role

This fast-paced distribution/warehousing national business is seeking a People / HR Manager for their site in Worksop with circa 500+ staff - due to an internal move.

Reporting to the People/People Partner, the Head of People and working closely with the site General Manager, you will be the site Point of Contact for all People and Culture related issues.

Supported by a collaborative and fun HR team - a HR Advisor and 2 HR Assistants - you will manage all the people related issues of the site.

You will provide a full generalist HR and people service - covering all aspects of HR, recruitment, employee lifecycle, employee relations and industrial relations; while supporting a culture of continuous improvement, to ensure that all business objectives are achieved and maintained through the performance of people.

The site is No1 in the UK in terms of employee engagement - from social value projects, EDI and Health & Wellbeing initiatives and feedback - and you will be instrumental in the continuation and development of these programmes.

You will also be responsible for Trade Union liaison - of which is a respected and valued relationship on both sides - from day to day matters, ER, relationship building, pay/term negotiations and social values.

You will guide and advise the General Manager and Management team on site in all areas of people and culture for the continuous improvement of the site including:

  • Employee Relations
  • Industrial Relations
  • Talent Management
  • Performance Management
  • Change Management
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • DEI
  • Social and charitable programmes/events
  • HR and People related Projects

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor / Junior HR Business Partner with management experience to truly step into a Manager role - OR a current HR Manager / Business Partner to take on a new challenge.

NB This is predominantly a site-based role. There maybe flexibility to occasionally WFH depending on business requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will :

  • Have a background in a fast-paced blue collar environment.Be minimum Level 5 CIPD qualified (or similar level experience level)
  • Strong ER knowledge and experience
  • Staff management experience
  • HR metrics/KPI reporting and analysis skills

MUST have Trade Union liaison experience - ideally negotiation/review experience.
