Role Overview:

As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students. You will have the opportunity to develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while fostering a deep appreciation for literature. This role requires a dynamic and creative educator who can adapt to the needs of all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4, with potential opportunities to teach KS5.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students' academic growth and development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the overall development of the English department.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary level, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and current educational practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
