A special school in North Leeds is seeking an experienced Autism Support Worker to join their growing team of support staff. The school caters for children and young people aged 11 to 19 with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs. The school is seeking a full time Autism Support Worker to start as soon as possible with the possibility of securing a permanent position.

As an Autism Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities will be:

  • To support the children in accordance to their care plan and ensure their needs and requirements are met.
  • To support with behavior management as and when required.
  • To assist the class teacher in running exciting lessons and stimulating activities to aid the pupils' sensory skills and development.
  • To support pupils with all aspects of personal care when needed.
  • To build strong rapport with the pupils to help them feel comfortable and relaxed in school.

To be an Autism Support Worker at this school, it is required that you have experience supporting children or adults with autism and Learning Disabilities to demonstrate your knowledge of how to support vulnerable young people.
