Position: Band 7 Physiotherapist

Location: Manchester

Contract Type: Temporary

Pay rate: £25 - £30 per hour

Pay Mechanism: Direct Pay Mechanism

Role: Provide holistic, evidence-based care for patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Bronchiectasis, focusing on out-patient/outreach support for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage airway clearance and exercise goals for CF and general respiratory patients.
  • Offer in-patient support and cover for critical care when needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Main Duties:

  • Service Development: Lead quality initiatives and service improvements.
  • Line Management: Oversee and educate staff and students, identifying and addressing training needs.
  • Education & Support: Provide guidance to MDT members, patients, and carers. Handle complaints with professionalism.
  • Patient Management: Motivate patients and manage adherence to treatment plans.
  • Organization & Problem-Solving: Efficiently manage a busy workload and work effectively under pressure.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in the respiratory on-call and weekend Rota, with a 45-minute response time.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Recognized BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.

  • Registration: State registration with HCPC.

  • Experience:

  • Broad postgraduate clinical experience, including rehab and respiratory roles.

  • Significant specialist experience in the relevant field.

  • Clinical governance experience, including service development and quality improvement.

  • Experience in teaching/education and handling complex communication and sensitive situations.

  • Respiratory on-call experience (overnight).
