Purchase Ledger Role Overview

My client, who operate within the entertainment and events sector require a Purchase Ledger clerk to support their small and friendly team on an immediate basis. This position will initially be a 3-month contract but has strong potential to extend further. This is an ideal opportunity for a positive and proactive team player with previous experience in an end-to-end purchase ledger position.

Purchase Ledger Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file authorised purchase orders.
  • Matching of invoices to purchase orders.
  • Coding and processing of purchase invoices
  • Ensure all purchase invoices are authorised by relevant business members.
  • Ensure batches of invoices are ready for payment within terms.
  • Prepare supplier BACS payment runs are set up in the bankline system.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Carry out multiple bank reconciliations - ensuring any reconciling items are cleared promptly.
  • Liaise with management accounts re accruals and unreleased invoice batches.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Carry out weekly review of aged creditor reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.

Purchase Ledger Requirements:

  • 12 months + Accounts payable experience
  • Ability to support in a varied capacity for a multi-site business
  • Customer focused approach to tasks and duties
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to achieve group targets and goals.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • MUST BE ABLE TO START ON A REDUCED NOTICE PERIOD AND COMMIT TO A MINIMUM 3 MONTH PERIOD
