A Primary School in Swanley is seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join on a full-time basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the learning journey of a specific student, providing crucial support and guidance tailored to their individual needs.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a designated student, providing one-to-one support in their academic and personal development.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's social, emotional, and educational progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated support for the student.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews and assessments as required.

1:1 Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
  • A patient and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the student and school environment.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.

Desirability for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • First aid training (though training can be provided).
