A Primary School in Swanley is seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join on a full-time basis. 1:1 Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a designated student, providing one-to-one support in their academic and personal development.
- Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's social, emotional, and educational progress.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure coordinated support for the student.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews and assessments as required.
1:1 Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
- A patient and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the student and school environment.
- An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
Desirability for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN).
- First aid training (though training can be provided).
