We are seeking a dedicated Human Resource Executive to join our team at the General Council. This role is crucial for assisting in the development and implementation of human resource practices and initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislation across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and supporting the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Advice and Guidance: Develop and implement HR strategies including recruitment, training, and retention plans. Provide HR support to line managers on various employee relations matters.
  • Recruitment and Staffing: Act as an advisor on recruitment, ensuring job descriptions and personnel specifications are up-to-date and compliant with legal standards.
  • Discipline and Grievance: Lead in providing support in disciplinary and grievance cases, including investigation and interview procedures.
  • Training and Development: Create and implement training programs on key HR initiatives such as recruitment, absence management, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Reporting: Generate HR reports for Councils and Committees on labour turnover, recruitment, and absence management.
  • General HR Support: Assist in general HR queries, deputise for the Head of Human Resources, and supervise HR staff as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential: Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). At least two years of generalist HR experience, including significant experience in managing complex discipline and grievance cases.
  • Desirable: A third-level qualification in addition to CIPD membership. Chartered membership of CIPD.
