Do you want to make a difference to the lives of young people with learning disabilities?

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll motivate and inspire our students to achieve their full potential, by supporting a positive learning environment and championing independence.

Who we are:

Since 1996, we've been empowering people with learning disabilities in Devon to achieve their dreams and build fulfilling lives. Our core values of kindness, respect, and positivity guide everything we do.

What you'll do:

- You'll work alongside our tutors and will be a source of support for students to ensure they are motivated, happy and engaged in their learning and development.
- Inspire and encourage students through their transition from school to college and enable them to learn and practice independence.
- Support in a range of tasks to facilitate a positive, supportive learning environment and ensure that all students realise their full potential.

Our College staff operate over 38 weeks of the year; working 34.75 hours per week for 36 weeks (term time) and 34.5 hours per week for the remaining 2 weeks (outside of term time and allocated for training).

Working hours:

As a Learning Support Assistant, your working hours will be 09.00 am to 15.50 pm. However, once a week we hold a College meeting, so you will finish at 16.20 pm on that day.

What we're looking for:

- Experience of working with people with learning difficulties, as well as knowledge and experience of the education sector.
- Great IT skills and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
- Committed to building and fostering positive relationships in the workplace.
- Great communication and organisation skills.
- A team-player, but equally able to work independently.
- Practical, enthusiastic and a positive attitude.
- Above all, you must have a passion for supporting young people and adults.

Make a difference and build your career at Lifeworks!

We're passionate about supporting our staff just as much as we are about supporting our service users. When you join our team, you can expect:

- A Real Living Wage of £12.00 per hour
- A starting entitlement of 33 days' paid holiday (pro-rata for part time), which due to the nature of the role, will be paid to you on top of your hourly rate meaning you'll receive £13.75 per hour.
- A fully funded DBS check and update service to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Access valuable resources including an employee assistance program to support your mental and emotional health.

Building a diverse and safe team:

At Lifeworks, we're committed to fostering a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community.
