An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and engaging Finance Graduate to join a growing Group Controls Team within a leading retail and services business. What you'll do:
As a Finance Graduate, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the robustness of our financial, reporting, operational, and compliance controls. You will be responsible for testing these controls in line with an approved plan, documenting your work meticulously. Your strong communication skills will come into play as you present your findings to key stakeholders. With an eye for improvement, you'll review current processes and make recommendations for enhancements. Monitoring the progress of these recommendations will fall under your remit, as well as supporting various Controls Team projects. Lastly, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the rollout of our internal control framework.
- Test the design and effectiveness of controls in line with the approved testing plan
- Document the controls testing work
- Present and discuss controls testing results to key stakeholders
- Review current processes to recommend controls improvements with the support of the Group Control Accountants
- Monitor and report on recommendation completion
- Support Controls Team projects as required
- Support the rollout of the internal control framework
What you bring:
As our ideal Finance Graduate candidate, you bring a wealth of skills to this role. You are educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a relevant field. Your self-motivation and organisational skills set you apart from others. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to interact effectively with all levels within our organisation. Your strong analytical skills are matched by your attention to detail. You're enthusiastic about learning new things and have an ability to quickly absorb new information. Experience with Microsoft Office suite is essential for this role. Above all else, you understand the importance of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
