GSL Education is currently seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher for Key stage 3 and 4 to join a local SEN School in Blandford, with a vacancy for September 2024.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote positive behaviour and discipline within the classroom.
  2. Deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum standards, ensuring students are well-prepared for assessments and future academic challenges.
  3. Implement differentiated teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom, providing each student with the opportunity to excel.
  4. Emphasise real-world applications of scientific principles, utilising hands-on experiments and cutting-edge resources to make science relevant and captivating for students.
  5. Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
  6. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for scientific inquiry, promoting respectful behaviour among students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • PGCE/QTS/QTLS
  • Experience of teaching science in SEN school is preferred, or the ability to cover Science with support
  • Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school's curriculum.
