Here at Stonewater, we are now seeking a Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering & Data team!
As an expert in web technologies, you will be on the forefront of helping us design and implement solutions which are aimed at improving the lives of our customers in social housing and drive operational efficiencies using technology. You will work closely with the Head of Software Engineering to set a high standard of front-end development within the newly created department and use tools such as Nx and Storybook to enhance our ability to re-use components and rapidly develop prototypes.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and deploy new features and products in accordance with the requirements and take responsibility for writing clean, maintainable and efficient code. Contributing to the entire development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, you will work on bug fixing and improving application performance as well as participating in code reviews to maintain code quality, ensuring that the team is following development standards. You will monitor and report on progress using standard Agile and Scrum methodologies and test software products in accordance with project specifications.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven experience in front-end development, where you have designed, implemented and maintained web applications built as Single Page Applications.
- Have proven experience with test-driven development (Jest, Karma and Playwright).
- Have experience of implementing Google Analytics and have a good understanding of SEO.
- Have experience in building apps with accessibility in mind (WCAG).
- Have experience in using and implementing maps such as Google Maps or OpenLayers.
- Have excellent knowledge of RESTful API's and integrating with backend services.
- Have a good understanding of Progressive Web Apps and Service Workers.
- Be able to execute the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Be able to develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
- Be experienced in writing re-usable and easily maintainable code.
- Be able to document and maintain software functionality.
- Be able to troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing solutions.
- Be able to follow best practices for designing and implementing secure solutions.
