The Role
As a Scenic Workshop Manager, you'll be at the forefront of scenic operations, leading a skilled team of carpenters, painters, and other craftspeople. You'll ensure that their scenic workshop delivers high-quality production on time and within budget, while also contributing to the creative process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the scenic workshop team
- Oversee the construction and preparation of scenic elements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices
- Maintain inventory and manage supplier relationships
- Provide input on construction design and material specifications
- Hands-on involvement in the construction of scenic products
- Collaborate with the Head of Scenic for planning and resource management
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Assist other departments in meeting overall business needs

The Ideal Candidate:
They're looking for a passionate and experienced Workshop Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves to lead by example.
You will have:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in scenic construction
- Excellent carpentry skills and knowledge of various materials
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and CAD plans
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and a customer-focused attitude
- Knowledge of safety protocols and HSE regulations
- Experience with CNC machines and 3D printing (advantageous)
