Role Overview:

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) to join the team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of mechanical and electrical systems for rail depot works. This role requires a deep understanding of rail systems, a strong engineering background, and exceptional project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical and electrical systems for rail depot projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to develop detailed technical specifications and designs.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical and Electrical CRE, preferably in the rail industry with a focus on depot works.
  • Strong knowledge of rail depot systems, including HVAC, power supply, lighting, and communication systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in using engineering design software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
