The role

Substantial, continued investment is contributing to Ashtons success and growth, with our Lettings Department a significant component of this.

We are recruiting for a Lettings Associate to join our St Albans team to continue to drive this momentum forward.

The successful candidate will be proactive, accomplished at negotiating lettings contracts, with at least one years experience in a busy, successful and recognised Lettings Agency.

With separate Administration, Property Management and Accounts departments, the primary focus will be on building market share in a competitive environment, without the paperwork and administration 'negatives' sometimes attributed to lettings.

Most of the day will be spent building relationships with Tenants and Landlords, making call outs to market the properties we are representing, attending viewings and negotiating offers, therefore strong interpersonal skills are required to create meaningful client relationships.

We expect drive, energy and ambition to generate new business in a very competitive environment, which will include Prospecting on a daily basis.

You must be comfortable dealing with the sector in which we operate (middle to upper) and working with intelligent clients, which include a substantial number of London commuters.

Applicant's skill set

  • You will have a minimum 1 year of experience in a busy letting's environment, with a proven track record of success in negotiating lettings contracts. Alternatively, you might be in sales at present and looking to move in to a faster paced environment where you call list as well as let property.
  • You will be a naturally compliant and organised individual, who has the ability to be engaging and informative when guiding Landlords and Tenants on their property journey.
  • You will be looking to develop your career with a first-class estate agency, be comfortable dealing with properties up to £5000 per calendar month and communicating with intelligent individuals, professional and corporate clients.
  • You will be capable in negotiating relocation agent and PLC's letting contracts.
  • Experience of using the IT Software "Reapit" would be desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given.
  • You will need to be able to work under pressure, whilst remaining organised, focused and accessible.
  • An engaging and charismatic personality is essential, as is the commitment to provide exceptional service at every opportunity.

Hours & Location

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm

1-in-4 Saturdays 9.00am - 5.00pm

Salary

£23,000 - £24,000 Basic + personal and office comms (OTE £30,000 - £32,000)
