Road Freight Operator (Exports)

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: circa £35,000 DOE
Reed Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of our client to recruit a Road Freight Operator (Exports) to join their well established branch. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for logistics and customer service to join a dynamic and supportive team.
**The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and delivering outstanding service to customers. This is a varied position that involves liaising with carriers, handling bookings, and supporting customs and invoicing processes.
**Key Responsibilities
- End to end EU road freight exports
- Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions
- Liaise with carriers, hauliers, and internal teams
- Take and process bookings via phone and email
- Provide quotations and support sales activities
- Create and manage freight jobs using internal systems
- Prepare customs documentation (CDS / TSS / Thyme-it)
- Coordinate final delivery bookings
- Handle filing, post, PODs, and invoicing
**What We're Looking For
- Experience within road freight operations (ideally EU exports)
- A proactive, mature, and dynamic personality
- Strong understanding of customer satisfaction and trust
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong time management and ability to work under pressure
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn
