Production Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in the West Moors area at their machine facility. This is a lead role position that is responsible for improving production processes, and factories. This role is responsible for deciding on manufacturing processes, creating routings, CNC programs, tooling sheets, introducing new methods of manufacture and to continually improve our machining facility.

Responsibilities Include

Deciding on method of manufacture and create routings.

Create CNC programs using CAM software and Manual programs.

Create tooling sheets ensuring repeatable processes and clear instruction on setting machines.

Introduce new tooling and machining techniques to reduce set up and run times along with improve quality.

Manage the issue control of CNC programs and tooling sheets.

Assist in day-to-day machining issues by providing technical assistance and problem solving solutions.

Design of fixtures and tooling when standard tooling or work holding equipment is not available.

Create basic inspections sheets per job to help control quality.

Support continuous improvement initiatives through reducing waste in the manufacturing processes.

Experience

HNC (BTEC level 4) in Engineering or relevant job experience.

In depth knowledge of different machining methodology, techniques and tooling.

Experienced programmer of CNC Milling and Turning machines.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills.

Excellent organisational and planning skills.

Good strong team player with the ability to influence others and lead a team

Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite, including but not limited to; Excel, Word, etc.

Experience in using CAM software to produce programs

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Have a good understanding of Health and safety requirements within the workplace.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday - proposed 39-hour week
