Myn is recruiting for a dedicated and skilled Social Worker on behalf of our long-term client in the South East of England. If you're passionate about helping families build resilience, supporting children's welfare, and making a real difference, this could be the role for you.

About the Role

As a Social Worker, you'll work closely with families to build trust, promote their strengths, and identify their needs. Your goal? To help create safe, supportive environments where children can thrive. Using motivational interviewing, you'll partner with parents to foster positive change, working with them through both challenging and rewarding times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess Needs: Conduct assessments to understand family strengths, risks, and needs, creating SMART plans to ensure children's safety and well-being.
  • Child Protection: Investigate concerns and engage families in developing plans to reduce risk and keep children within their families whenever possible.
  • Collaboration: Work with partner agencies and attend child-in-need and core group meetings to track and support family progress.
  • Care Planning: For children unable to remain in their family homes, you'll assist in identifying quality placements and stable, long-term homes.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case records, assessments, and plans in line with organisational standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional Qualification: CQSW or Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) or equivalent, recognised by the HCPC.
  • Registration with the HCPC (or in process) is essential.
  • Experience: Significant experience in assessing and supporting children and young people, ideally within a UK statutory setting.
  • Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of child welfare legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding principles.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with families, professionals, and partners.
  • Teamwork: Excellent collaborative skills, with the ability to support colleagues and share best practices across teams.
  • IT Proficiency: Competent in basic IT and numeracy skills.
