HR Administrator - FTC

Overview

We are seeking a HR Administrator for a 12-month maternity cover position at our Chawston office.

As a direct delivery specialist contractor in the water industry and wider water environment, we manage 29 frameworks and collaborate with most of the UK's water companies and the Environment Agency.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of People Services, you will assist in all aspects of People and Culture administration throughout the entire employee lifecycle providing specialist ER advice to all members of staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for all People and Culture related enquiries to provide generic advice and guidance on policy, procedures and processes
  • Produce documentation including offer letters, contracts, new starter paperwork, leavers' letters
  • Record and report on sickness absence
  • Respond to external requests for references for former members of staff
  • Request employment and character references for new members of staff
  • Create and maintain accurate People files
  • Organise Occupational Health Screening appointments
  • Keep track of probationary reviews for new starters, sending out paperwork to line managers as appropriate
  • Assist in the administration of the company's annual review process
  • Support the Training Administrator when necessary

Who we're looking for

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level including passes in Maths and English
  • Previous experience of working in a busy HR office
  • CIPD qualified to Level 3
  • A good communicator, able to deal confidently with a variety of people face-to- face, in writing and on the telephone
  • Able to work alone using own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks
  • Display a positive attitude and be committed to high levels of accuracy
  • Strong IT skills, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proven planning and organisation skills with ability to prioritise workloads
