Immediate Accounts Administrator

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be representing a highly reputable organisation, specialising in renewable energy, who are seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join their dynamic and growing team.

Full-time and permanent, paying a salary of £29,000 - £30,000 per annum with a benefits package including:-

As Accounts Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth financial operations of our renewable energy company. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, managing payroll, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Purchase and Sales Ledger - maintain accurate records of purchase and sales transactions, process invoices, reconcile accounts & manage payment schedules, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies.
  2. Credit Control - monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments, implement credit control procedures to minimize financial risk and communicate effectively with clients regarding payment terms.
  3. Bank Reconciliation - regularly reconcile bank statements with internal records, investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  4. VAT Returns - prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulations, keep abreast of changes in VAT legislation and adjust processes accordingly, liaise with tax authorities as needed.
  5. Journals and Accruals - post journal entries accurately to maintain financial records, handle accruals and prepayments, and assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  6. Monthly Forecasting - collaborate with finance and operational teams to create accurate monthly forecasts, analyse financial data and provide insights for decision-making, and identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
  7. Understanding of financial management principles.
  8. Assist in budgeting and financial planning.
  9. Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  10. Work closely with the finance department (UK & Germany) to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
  11. Assist in Warehouse stock checks.
  12. Ad hoc Admin - manage and maintain office files, documents & records, coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences, handle incoming calls, emails etc. and directing to the appropriate personnel, act as a liaison between the Senior Manager and team members.

To be successful in this role, you must have history working in a similar position with strong experience in financial administration. Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Quickbooks, Xero or similar) and excellent attention to detail and organisation skills are all imperative for this role. The ideal candidate will have strong communication abilities to interact with colleagues, suppliers and clients and be meticulous and proactive in approach.
