About Us:

Our Secondary School is a vibrant and inclusive educational institution dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and technical skills in our students. Our Design Technology Department, though small, is a hub of creativity and hands-on learning, where students are encouraged to explore, design, and create.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting both students and teachers within the workshop. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing Materials: Ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for lessons and projects.
  • Maintaining Equipment: Regularly inspecting and maintaining tools and machinery to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Supporting Students: Assisting students during practical sessions, providing guidance on the use of tools and materials, and encouraging their creative and technical skills.
  • Assisting Teachers: Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, including setting up demonstrations and providing technical advice.
  • Health and Safety: Ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within the workshop.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A passion for design and technology, with practical experience in a workshop environment.
  • Strong technical skills, with knowledge of tools, machinery, and materials used in design technology.
