Lead Design Engineer

Undertake LDE role for Wastewater Infrastructure scheme solution identification, definition and outline design.

To act as the first point of contact to have single point accountability and leadership for technical design matters for a number of projects within a Water Utilities Capital Programme within a defined geographical area.

Co-ordinating the design team to deliver the required outputs under the design manager.

Delivering on optimised projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets.

Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.

Complying with quality systems and processes so outcomes meet all standards.
Person Specification

Educated to degree level
-
Chartered Engineer or outstanding role specific experience
Required Experience
-
Track record of success in leading the technical delivery of significant capital Projects at a senior level within the Water Industry.

Has either significant experience in water infrastructure design, with a focus on trunk mains or wastewater infrastructure design, with focus on rising mains

Understands the designer's responsibilities under CDM.

Has proven process improvement design and implementation capability.

Has broad industry and business knowledge and experience in complex investment-type decisions.

Ideally has consultant and client-side experience.
