Nursery Worker

Five Education are working with an excellent nursery in Cheddar who are looking for a passionate Early Years Nursery Worker. The nursery has excellent facilities including outdoor and sensory learning experiences. The children are aged between 6 months and 5 years old.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in early years settings previously, you may have an early years/ childcare qualification. Candidates who have supported SEN children in nurseries, schools or in a care setting are highly recommended to apply. Sound early years knowledge is essential.
The hours for this role are 8:00-17:00 with a one-hour lunch break. There are shorter shifts available e.g. 13:00-17:00. You can choose the days of the week you want to work, but we ask for a minimum of two days per week. The nursery would happily take someone who can offer 5 days. This is a temporary role, but there is every chance it will go on to become permanent. The rate of pay is £12.81 an hour. This rate is inclusive of holiday pay.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Assist nursery staff with the care and welfare of the children.
  • Meet children's needs throughout the day, paying close attention to the needs of identified SEN children.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean and tidy place for children to play in.
  • Contribute creative ideas to help children to learn and develop.
  • Follow EYFS curriculum.

Essential Criteria:
-A flexible and resourceful approach.
-Experience of Early Years settings or a willingness to learn about them
-Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
-Two recent child-based references and relevant DBS/ Police checks
-Access to bicycle, car or near main bus routes.
-Able to work 8.00-17.00 or short shifts are available.
