Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational environment?

We are currently seeking a dedicated professional for a dual role as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) at a well-regarded primary school in Lewisham. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute to the development and learning of primary-aged children with varying needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Delay, and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HLTA Duties (2 Days):

  • Deliver planned lessons prepared by the class teacher to small groups of children, ensuring engagement and understanding.

  • Assist in the planning and preparation of additional engaging educational activities.

  • SEN TA Duties (3 Days):

  • Provide tailored support for children with special educational needs, ensuring their individual learning plans are effectively implemented.

  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to foster a positive learning environment.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of special educational needs, particularly ASD, Global Delay, and ADHD.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. HLTA status, Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting children's development.
