Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Officer

REED Specialist Recruitment is delighted to support our client a leading transport and warehousing company and an excellent employer, who wishes to recruit an experienced Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Officer to join their growing team!

Role overview:

Reporting to the QSHE Manager you will assist in delivering the ongoing QSHE protocols of the Group, across NI, GB and ROI.

Having a keen interest in best practice the appointed candidate will be qualified and self-motivated, bringing an accommodating and positive approach to all aspects of their work.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QSHE) internal audits and site inspections across the Group's locations.
  • Carrying out checks and updating records to monitor compliance on a regular basis.
  • Obtaining, reviewing and evaluating necessary documentation related to sub-contractors.
  • Organising and delivering employee induction.
  • Obtaining and reviewing necessary documentation from contractors, delivering contractors' induction and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting with the provision of QSHE and Product Safety awareness programs to staff through various campaigns.
  • Responding to employees' queries or concerns about potential safety, environmental and health issues and discuss suggestions for improvements.
  • Participating in the investigating and reporting of accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Gathering data and completing all aspects of QSHE administration tasks ensuring records are updated.
  • Producing and updating appropriate communication material including signage and posters.
  • Assisting in the review of current QSHE policies, procedures, regulations and legislation.
  • Travelling to Group's locations and customer sites in GB & Ireland as required.
  • Continually work with line managers to heighten their safety responsibilities for their respective teams.

The successful candidate should have:

2 years' experience of working within a similar role

Experience working to ISO standards Internal auditing experience

NEBOSH Certificate

The successful applicant will be self-motivated with the ability to identify new opportunities, have the ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

They will be experienced in QSHE management systems and procedures.

Desirable knowledge and experience:

Knowledge of BRC Global Standards

Previous experience in QSHE Management systems and procedures.

Knowledge of current QSHE legislation.
