People2people are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join a well established and successful business in London.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil or structural engineering, with a focus on residential projects. You will play a key role in the design and analysis of building structures, ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
This position offers the flexibility to work on a full-time or part-time basis, with a preference for candidates willing to work from the office.
Key responsibilities include;
Perform detailed structural design for single dwelling residential projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Utilise the latest industry design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to produce accurate and efficient design outputs.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects, from concept through to completion.
Apply your expertise in building structures design to develop solutions that are not only structurally sound but also cost-effective and sustainable.
Ensure all designs adhere to UK building regulations and industry best practices.
Engage with clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and provide professional advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and other necessary documentation for project approvals and construction.
Required Skills;
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Extensive experience working on residential projects in the UK, with a focus on single dwelling homes.
Proficient in the latest industry design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and experience in applying these to residential projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.
A keen eye for detail, ensuring all aspects of design and documentation are thoroughly checked and accurate.
