People and Development Officer

The People and Development Officer will play an instrumental role in the Human Resources department within the public sector, providing support and guidance to team members while implementing effective HR strategies.

Description

  • Design, deliver and facilitate workshop materials as required and agreed with the people development business partners.
  • Design course evaluations and provide evaluation reporting, promoting organisational understanding of the impact of learning interventions and programmes.
  • Research and source external training providers using the managed learning framework, assisting with the procurement of training providers where required.
  • Lead on the development, delivery and regular review of the induction process, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Oversight and delegation of day to day people and development tasks, ensuring enquiries are answered in a timely manner, dealing with escalations from the people and development support officer and escalating further where necessary.

Profile

The successful People and Development Officer will be a:

  • Experience of facilitating, designing and delivering training.
  • Experience of seeking out information and translating to robust advice, identifying and escalating risk as appropriate.
  • Ability to be a proactive problem solver.
  • Knowledge of HR, recruitment and learning and development policies and procedures.
  • Experience of identifying learning gaps and implementing effective training plans.

Job Offer

Full time role + Fixed term contract until 29 August 2025 + Salary:?£27,679 per year, rising to £28,767 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period + Location: Sheffield/hybrid remote + Flexible working, contributory pension, life insurance and upcoming benefits portal.
