An exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Manager to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation based in Waterlooville, Hampshire.
As part of a highly energy team, you will play a crucial role, building relationships with a growing client portfolio and delivering key work. This role will be exceptionally exciting to a candidate looking developer their career.
Duties will include:
- To coach, train, develop and lead their team (4-5 direct reports).
- To provide leadership and role-modelled behaviour (to our company values) to the accountancy team.
- To perform relevant employees 1-2-1 meetings for a section of the accounting team.
- To perform return to work interviews.
- To support the Accountancy Manager with planning and monitoring the performance of the accountancy team's key
performance measures e.g., weekly stats, timesheets etc.
- To support the Accountancy Manager in developing internal systems and controls to ensure standards are met to
support our company values as required.
- To support the recruitment and interview process with the Recruitment Lead as required.
- To manage the process of (and where required, directly carry out) preparing, sending and submitting accounts & tax
returns for a portfolio of clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
- To communicate with clients via phone, email, social media and in person, including chasing records.
- To ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met e.g. - HMRC, SLA etc.
- To onboard new clients and integrate them into your portfolio - this will include bookkeeping, compliance etc to then be
handed over to the relevant department.
- To assess and advise clients on their tax position.
- To optimise and plan the tax efficiency of clients.
- To review and advise clients on advisory level which may include cashflow, budgets, pricing etc.
- To review and/or prepare book-keeping, VAT returns and CIS where required.
- To prepare and execute year end client meetings.
- To carry out client fee reviews.
- To instruct, mentor and manage accounting team members to carry out the above.
Applicants must possess:
- Must be able to prepare accounts & tax returns for clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
- Must hold membership to a professional body (does not need to be a chartered body)
- Be confident in providing direct advice to clients. Sound tax knowledge is a must.
- Be an effective communicator, able to communicate at all levels across the company and to clients directly.
- Experience working in accounting practice within the last 2 years with at least 5 years accounting practice experience overall.
- Good standard of verbal and written English.
- Proficient IT skills (Excel & Word are essential)
- A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable).
