Corporate & Business Tax Senior Manager

An exciting opportunity to join a mid-tier accounting firm in their Corporate & Business Tax Team, managing a portfolio of clients while building and sustaining strong relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient tax services, ensuring clients receive exceptional support tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture relationships with a portfolio of clients in the corporate and business tax team.
  • Understand clients' needs, advise on compliance obligations, and help manage their risk and relationship with HMRC.
  • Proactively identify tax planning opportunities relevant to clients and support tax directors and partners in delivering these solutions.
  • Contribute to team development through technical training, soft skills coaching, and on-the-job mentoring. This includes setting objectives, appraising junior team members, and fostering their growth.
  • Manage WIP and handle fee negotiations for your portfolio of clients.
  • Participate in the management of the corporate and business tax department, contributing to regular management meetings.
  • Assist in training tax staff, either on-the-job or through regular technical updates.
  • Appraise junior staff, overseeing their development and performance.
  • Support partners with international queries, practice development, marketing campaigns, and content for firm blogs and social media.
  • Identify new opportunities within the client portfolio and collaborate with the wider team to deliver additional services.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • ACA and/or CTA qualified with at least five years post-qualification experience.
  • Excellent communicator and team player.
  • Extensive experience managing client portfolios and delivering annual corporation tax reporting.
  • Experience working with complex groups and handling related tax issues.
  • Broad technical tax knowledge, with corporate tax expertise as a priority; mixed tax experience is a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work within set timescales.
  • Experience identifying business development opportunities within tax (and ideally across other service lines).
