My client is seeking an Account Manager to deliver a best-in-class customer experience to our freight forwarder customers, maximising margin and increasing revenue for allocated airlines. The role involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, negotiating contract rates, and closing agreements to benefit partner airlines. As the lead point of contact for specific customer and airline matters, you will be responsible for preparing sales progress and account activity reports.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Represent the company professionally, maintaining high standards and brand values at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within the freight forwarder network to close sales and regularly visit key contacts with opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with airline personnel.
  • Agree on contractual rates with UK customers to improve market shares and work closely with the Sales Planning Manager to maximise margins and drive yield improvements.
  • Review contractual rates biannually, removing unused rates and driving yields where markets are strong.
  • Create contractual pricing contracts and work on customer tenders specific to Airlines represented.
  • Analyse customer/market intelligence to target new business effectively.
  • Ensure weekly sales reporting is completed and call plans are kept up to date.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to airlines based on individual requirements.
  • Assist with covering reservations and internal sales emails during peak times or when team members are off.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar sales role.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
  • Ability to analyse market intelligence and sales data.
  • Proficient in creating reports and managing databases.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to cover additional tasks as needed.
