Reed Accountancy & Finance is actively seeking a Management Accountant for a temporary position with our client based in Hythe. This role is to provide interim support to cover a period of long-term sickness. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and analytical individual with a strong background in management accounting.
**Management Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts.
- Monitor and analyse budget variances and provide explanations.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Support with the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors as necessary.
- Manage and oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and management.
- Provide financial analysis as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
**Management Accountant
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Proven experience in a management accounting role.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and to cover a broad range of tasks.
