Reed Education are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist provision supporting students with social, emotional, and/or mental health difficulties. This is a unique opportunity for a committed educator to contribute to a school that is fast becoming a beacon of outstanding practice in SEMH specialist provision.

Day to Day of the Role

  • Support the vision and direction of the school by delivering an engaging curriculum.
  • Provide inspirational teaching to reignite a love for learning in students.
  • Develop bespoke, personalised programmes of study to meet the needs of all students.
  • Ensure effective pastoral care and behaviour support throughout the school.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day impact of English and Drama across the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to the curriculum to meet school requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of further professional development in English/Drama education practice.
  • Strong subject and curriculum knowledge with the ability to inspire and challenge students.
  • Experience in planning and teaching well-structured lessons, adapting to the strengths and needs of all students.
  • Effective behaviour management skills to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with parents/guardians and external agencies.
  • Commitment to school-wide focus on student attainment and a passion for continuous professional development.
