Head of Group Finance - Listed Real Estate

One of the UK's leading property companies is hiring for a Head of Group Finance. The Group is well capitalised and manages c10 million sq ft of real estate spanning Commercial, Office, Resi/BTR and Retail across the UK and Europe, as well as a significant pipeline of development projects.

This is a senior leadership position, reporting into the Group Finance Director, who sits below the CFO, and will be responsible for leading the Group finance function and delivery of the internal and external financial reporting obligations of the Group, as well as leading on ongoing finance transformation workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Group finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of engagement, development and quality of delivery.
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Lead the Group finance team on the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, and procedures to support the overall goals and objectives of the business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Manage the external audit process and coordinate with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
  • Draft accounting papers supporting the Group's approach for key estimates and judgements and proactively engaging with the external auditors
  • Ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting. Drive improvements in the efficiency of the financial close process.
  • Assist in ad hoc financial projects and assignments as required.

Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with significant post qualified experience
  • Proven experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in a group-level finance function
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with knowledge of accounting principles
  • Excellent understanding of treasury (debt and financial instrument) accounting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in using financial software and ERP systems
  • A data-driven mindset with a strong ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, have high organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Passionate and driven with a self-starter attitude
