Biokinetics - Research Scientist (x2)

Our client, a global R&D organisation, is seeking two talented individuals to join their team as Research Scientists in the field of Biokinetics. If you have a background in Biological Sciences, experience in laboratory work, and a desire to contribute to innovative crop solutions, then this opportunity is for you!

As a Research Scientist in the Bioperformance group within the Bioscience function in Crop Protection, you will have the opportunity to conduct research on the ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination) behaviour of active ingredients. This research will help understand critical performance characteristics such as selectivity, resistance, and translation in the field.

To be successful in these roles, our client is looking for candidates who have a minimum of two years of laboratory experience and a degree in Biological Sciences (MSc preferred). Experience with insects and/or microbiology and/or plant science would be advantageous. Alongside technical skills, they value good personal management skills, the ability to deliver results in line with project timelines, and compliance with HSE principles and standards. Effective interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team, are essential for collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines.

In this role, you will:

  • Proactively provide scientific and technical support by performing in vivo studies in insects, plants, and plant pathogens, or in vitro assays using recombinant enzymes.
  • Interpret and analyse data, presenting conclusions through detailed reports and presentations.
  • Implement HSE actions to ensure operations are within defined standards.
  • Maintain plant cell cultures.
  • Review and advance established protocols or methodologies to improve capability and efficiency.
  • Transfer knowledge and build new capabilities to supplement existing toolkits.

To be considered for these roles, you should have:

  • A BSc or MSc (preferred) in a related field such as Entomology, Biochemistry, Insecticide ADME/Invertebrate Toxicology, Microbiology, or Plant Science.
  • At least two years of laboratory-based experience in a relevant professional or academic setting.
  • Effective scientific writing and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A willingness to work with insects.
  • Desirable experience in Pharmacology, Agronomy, Crop Protection, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Entomology.
  • Experience handling large datasets and using data storage, reporting analysis, and visualisation tools.
  • Experience studying the ADME of active ingredients.
  • Experience analysing small molecules using LCMS.

In return, our client offers:

  • Comprehensive training in all techniques, including the use of LCMS-based analysis.
  • A position that contributes to valuable and impactful work in a stimulating international environment.
  • A great working environment at their state-of-the-art Research Centre, with well-equipped laboratories, an open culture, and a diverse workforce.
  • The opportunity to work with and learn from highly qualified and experienced employees, gaining scientific and technical excellence.

These two vacancies are for one year.
