This role is vital in ensuring the timely order placement, supply, and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and support services, which are crucial to maintain production levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and distribution of weekly expedite reports to selected supply chain partners
- Analysis of exception messages from ERP system and placement of purchase orders to ensure cost-effective, timely delivery
- Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs
- Management of selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure timely flow of materials
- Development and maintenance of working knowledge of commodities and associated supplier base
- Implementation of process improvements as necessary
- Adherence to the company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and Health & Safety management systems
- Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements:
- Experience in supply chain control and purchasing
- Strong IT skills and proficiency with the MS Office suite; advanced analytical skills are a plus
- Experience in purchasing electronic or electro-mechanical parts is desirable
- Integrity and ethical practice in all situations, with respect for all individuals regardless of their status or position
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness while dealing with job challenges and conflicting information
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to show good judgment
