We are looking for a dedicated Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our production team. This key role ensures that our operations run smoothly 24/7. This position offers a competitive salary and follows a rotating shift pattern (early, late, and night shifts-no weekends).
Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for operators when equipment issues arise during shifts.
  • Support production shift team leaders by promptly addressing engineering needs.
  • Perform daily planned preventative maintenance and contribute to the development and use of the site's computer engineering maintenance management system.
  • Conduct unplanned maintenance and repairs to maximize production uptime.
  • Engage in fault-finding to identify root causes rather than just addressing symptoms.
  • Assist in installing and commissioning new manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Provide training and mentoring to production operatives and apprentices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Formal apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in electrical, mechanical, and/or maintenance engineering.
  • Experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • 18th Edition qualification is desirable, or competence with single-phase supplies and equipment.
  • Familiarity with three-phase systems, motor starters, control panels, and motors.
  • Experience with variable speed drives is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of bearings and drive transmission systems.
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with polymer processing technology is an advantage.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience with computer maintenance management systems (Pirana preferred).
