Supervising Social Worker

Our client, a 'GOOD' Ofsted rated IFA is looking to recruit a passionate social worker who wants to make a positive impact within fostering.

They are looking for candidates who share their vision – to help communities benefit from the positive contribution their children will make when they are healed and able to thrive. They achieve this through their values of integrity, collaboration, nurture, aspiration and outstanding quality.

They follow a therapeutic fostering model and offer ongoing training and development to all their social workers, working therapeutically, on successful completion of the probation period, plus a progression scheme to advanced levels.

They will consider candidates who have transferable skills from Adult Social Worker roles or front line children's teams.

Responsibilities as the Supervising Social Worker:

  • To undertake the recruitment, approval, training, and support functions related to foster carers.
  • To undertake Form F assessments, to a high standard, of potential foster carers and reviews and present these to the fostering panel as required within agreed timescales.
  • To ensure that all fostering households comply with the Foster Care Agreement, and the plans relating to the child they care for and ensure that carers understand these, and the tasks required of them.
  • To ensure that the carers provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people within which the child will have opportunity to learn, by continually monitoring the carers' suitability and competence.
  • To support carers by telephone and home visits on a regular basis.
  • To ensure that services provided to children are appropriate to a child's specific needs, and value diversity and promote equality.
  • To be fully involved in the matching processes, and to address any gaps identified and provide support as required.
  • To ensure that accurate and comprehensive case files are maintained for children and carers and kept up to date.
  • To access all relevant information relating to the child from the placing Local Authority, including LAC paperwork.
  • To ensure that children are protected by complying with all Safeguarding procedures.
  • To undertake out of hours' duty as required. (one in ten weeks)

Requirements as the Supervising Social Worker:

  • A recognised social work degree/diploma that is approved by Social Work England. (we don't offer VISA sponsorship)
  • To be registered with Social Work England.
  • A knowledge of current legislation particularly The Children Act 1989, National Minimum Standards in Fostering, The Fostering Regulations 2011, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010.
  • To hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car that is fully insured, with business usage, and has a valid MOT.
  • The ability to communicate well and clearly both verbally and in writing.

SALARY:

up to £43,000 d.o.e.
