A leading, highly successful and growing firm of chartered accountants based in Canterbury is searching for a Qualified Tax Accountant to join their team as a key hire. The firm and role provides clear career development prospects both in technical development and career route to progress.

Based in the firms Canterbury offices, you will be joining a highly successful firm. With wide ranging private and corporate clients ranging from sub audit threshold turnover clients, through to large corporate groups clients you will have exposure to high quality work and clients. On the personal tax side the firm acts for wide private clients to include HNWIs, directors, property related clients and other wide ranging individuals with complex compliance and planning requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation and filing of personal and corporation tax
  • Preparation of year-end and quarterly tax accounting schedules under both FRS102 and IFRS
  • Preparation and filing of other tax returns as required
  • Review of corporation tax returns prepared by third party advisers;
  • Corporation tax support work for due diligence projects
  • Liaison with third party providers to coordinate capital allowance projects for clients when required;
  • Supporting and liaising with other parts of the business to resolve tax queries;
  • Assist in preparation of statutory accounts;
  • When required, assistance with coordinating the audit process including managing audit timetables, reviewing statutory accounts and liaising between finance team, auditors and clients.

Role requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax
  • Tax qualification either by itself or as part of an accountancy qualification
  • Knowledge of audits and statutory accounts preparation is highly desirable
  • Strong corporation tax compliance technical skills
